song is still popular and part of the repertoire of many cover bands.
Auch ich habe "My Oh My" in einer "Glamrock" Cover Band viele Jahre gespielt und war vor allen Dingen von der sehr schönen melodiösen Basslinie des Bassisten Jim Lea begeistert, der den Song auch geschrieben hat.
I used to play "My Oh My" in a glam rock cover band for years and was mainly ehthusiastic about the nice melodic bassline that bassist Jim Lea (who also wrote this song) laid down on this track.

Obwohl in der Basslinie größtenteils Grundtöne gespielt werden, gibt es einen immer wiederkehrenden Lick den Jim Lea hier zur Tonika (C) und Dominate (G) spielt.
Although the bassline is mainly comprised of root notes there's one reccurring lick Jim Lea plays over the tonic (C) and dominant (G) chords.
Dieser coole Lick geht vom Grundton des Akkordes aus (R= Root) und geht über die "2" zur Durterz (3) und zurück zum Grundton: R-2-3-2-R-2-R. Diesen einfachen Lick können wir jederzeit als Fill bei Dur-Akkorden verwenden. Versuche es mal bei verschiedenen Songs!
This cool lick starts on the root note (R) of the chord and moves up to the major third (3) by passing the "2" and then descends back to the root again: R-2-3-2-R-2-R. You can play this simple lick everytime you want to add a fill to a major chord. Try it on several different songs!
Für das erste Gitarrensolo wechselt die Tonart ohne Modulattion nach A-Dur. Der Übergang wir lediglich durch die Dominante E7 der Zieltonart im letzten Takt von Strophe 3 eingeleitet und auf gleiche Weise geht es auch wieder zurück nach C-Dur (über Subdominate und Dominante F-G im letzten Takt des Solos).
For the first guitar solo the key changes to A major. The new key is led in by playing the dominant chord E7 of the new key in the last bar of verse 3. In the same manner it goes back by playing the subdominant (F) and dominant (G) chords of C major.
