Weekly Basslines #136: Season's Trees (Danger Mouse & Daniel Luppi feat. Norah Jones)

This song was requested by one of my students. It's from a soundtrack album to a film that doesn't exist. Italian film composer Daniel Luppi had the notion of writing music in the style of the "spaghetti western" from the 60ies and 70ies. Inspired by the great music of Ennio Morricone to films like "Once Upon A Time In The West" or "The Good The Bad And The Ugly" he teamed up with Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) to realize this project in several sessions between 2005 and 2010. They recorded the music in Rome's Forum Studios, formely used by Morriconne and with musician's who originally worked with the famous Italian soundtrack composer. Therefore the album was called "ROME".
Jack White and Norah Jones provided the vocals on the album.

The very syncopated bassline to this song is played with a pick by Dario Rosciglion.
